G692.3 GILDED AND LACQUERED ALABASTER SEATED BUDDHA

A finely sculpted alabaster Buddha, seated with his right hand lowered in bhumisparsimudra (the gesture of summoning the earth to witness) and the left resting in his lap, the face meditative and serene beneath a rounded usnisha ascending to a lotus knop, with extensive traces of gilding and brownish lacquer.
