CATALOGUE No. 41 BRONZE SEATED BUDDHA
17TH – 18TH CENTURY

A large and imposing bronze seated Buddha, seated in bhumisparsimudra (the gesture of summoning the earth to witness) on a stepped lotus pedestal, with a calm, meditative gaze and eyes cast downwards, the hair arranged in a domed usnisha rising to a tall flame finial, with extensive traces of gilding, red and black lacquer.
