These charming jades were both acquired in Hong Kong in 1954 by the owner’s late aunt.

Provenance: Purchased by Mrs L.G. Pepys (now deceased), the aunt of the present owner, in August/September 1954 from the ‘Jade House’, Hong Kong.
  1. A figure of a reclining buffalo with boy on its back, the jade a pale celadon tone.

China, Qing dynasty, 19th century

Length: 7.8 cms, 3 ins

  1. A carving of a lotus vessel, with elaborate foliage surrounding, the green jade with dark markings throughout.
